Salmon Favorelle (pronounced like cheverolet) hasn't started to crow yet but I'm 99% sure he's a boy.

5...4...3...2...1...And we have "crow" off

Just found crowing yesterday.  I wasn't sure because at first...they sound kinda sick.  But this morning he definitely was showing everyone who was boss by crowing.  It's sure not loud yet.  I'll just wait.  Isn't he just magnificent?  I love all the whites and blacks in his crest...(hair)  I'll see if I can get one of his face/eyes.  He has the biggest blackest eyes.

They keep growing and growing...and...

Salmon Favorelle...This was taken a couple weeks ago and already she has tons of facial hair...They are starting to look like the breed.  They are just so cute and sweet.
These two...top and bottom pictures were supposed to be the same breed.  They look similar when they are babies and I got jipped with the top one, but she is sooo sweet, I wouldn't trade her for another, but I would like another of the bottom.  If I had to guess I'd say that the top one is a Rhode Island Red or something like that.  The bottom on is definitely a Russian Orloff.  And she too now is looking like her real breed.  She also has facial hair.  Beard and muffs.
The only silkie to survive.  I had 3 black silkies but none of them lasted one day.  Sad...
Another polish.  Isn't (he) cute?  Still too young to tell if he's a boy or girl.  The bottom one is definitely a girl.  She has a poof for her haircut.  A boy polish would have long hairs/feathers falling to the side of their head.  A girl has a bu font.

Here is the double laced Barnevelder getting ready for bed and mad that I'm taking her picture.
Here from the 12 oclock position going clockwise is the

Bigger Babies

These are the same chickens as in the previous post in the box.  One is missing but he is just out of the picture below the pillow.  They love sitting on that pillow.  It's funny.

10%...is that good? phsh!

I did not have good luck with any of the breeds.  None of the lavender orps, lemon cuckoo orps, or swedish flower chicks hatched and only 3 of the BLRW (blue laced red wyandottes) hatched...BUT I knew it was a gamble and I learned quite a bit.  I don't think I'll order from ebay again.  The BLRW were from Lehi (local) and only 3 of 9 hatched from that batch.

The above pictures are of the third baby.

So here are the cuties...

Hopeful!!

I asked for an incubator for Christmas and I got it and all the fixins for it too.  The egg turner and the automatic fan.  This is the top of the incubator.  Not knowing what to expect I thought it would be made out something more durable than just styrofoam but that is what it was.  And we are super careful around it.  The eggs inside right now in the picture are lavender orpington.    But I will have all the following breeds inside.

 Lavender Orpington
Lemon Cuckoo Orpington

Swedish Flower Hens

Blue Laced Red Wyandottes (BLRW)
I'm expecting a 50% hatch rate from what I have.  Which will mean about 15 babies.  We'll see, especially since this is my first adventure.  They will hatch around Valentines Day.  How appropriate.  Three of the breeds I have ordered through ebay and the other blrw I recieved from a local farm.
